If you've come here looking for sadlittlewebjournal, I'm afraid the author closed up shop. I don't know him, but I do have a way of contacting him! He's written and suggested people looking for that software check out Wordlog which seems to be a new version he maintains. You can reach him (Tim Lupfer) by going to his personal site
This document is written in strict XHTML 1.1. I tried to use XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but MSIE didn't even seem able to display this warning message in that version. If your browser doesn't support this, get a better one. :) Browsers known to support this standard well enough to correctly display this page: Mozilla App Suite 1.0+, Netscape 7.0+, Mozilla Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox/Browser. Browsers that display the page ok, but with a few missing features: MSIE 5+, Konqueror, lynx 2.8+
Personally, I review the site in the Mozilla Phoenix Firebird Firefox web browser. (damn name changes) It is fast, lightweight, and standards compliant. Unfortunately, it doesn't support email/newsgroups reading, so I'm forced to use the more memory intensive Mozilla App Suite for that until Mozilla Thunderbird is more stable. Mozilla Firefox also is still in beta testing, but it already works better than some other browsers.
As of version 6.0, MSIE still cannot display this page correctly. It does not support 32-bit PNGs with transparency, PNGs as shortcut icons, SVGs (with or without transparency), CSS generated content, or CSS fixed positioning. It doesn't even support the <abbr> tag used above, as trivial as that would have been to add especially since it does support the often mis-used <acronym> tag. At least it can mostly display the page correctly.
These works are the stories and poems that come to my mind as I lay in bed waiting to fall asleep. When I get one I think is interesting or particularly emotional, I come over to my computer and I write it down. Please note, these stories are only stories. They are also somewhat dark, (gee go figure) so if you don't want to read something like that, by all means don't.
This list will be updated as I write new stories, or as I have the time to type in some of the ones I wrote before.
Current works in progress are (in the order that I began them):
Ever wonder who is the best person in the whole world? Check out Baerana's blog! She's the best one. Also, you might count Nibbler Bunny, but only if you think rabbits are people. If you've ever thought about getting a bunny as a pet, you really ought to read what Baerana says about what rabbit toys have been a hit, and check out some general rabbit information. There are also links to good books for rabbit owners, good suppliers for rabbit toys, food, and other supplies, and links to find more information from places like the House Rabbit Society.
Here is another interesting (ok its lame and boring really) page of mine, The Ramblings on Philosophy. (updated June 17, 1999) (yes, that long ago)
My host PhenomINET provides
several
services, including secure, inexpensive web hosting, email, dedicated servers and colocation.
They now also provide
semi-dedicated
accounts, (aka Virtual Private Servers which give
you full root access to run any
linux software you want, like
counterstrike, q2, whatever. That type of account costs more
than regular virtual hosting, but
a lot less than full dedicated
would, though of course it isn't as powerful as full dedicated hosting.
If you are going to
provide shameless plugs, you may as well do it right. ;)
Mozilla Firefox really is the greatest web browser I've used, despite a few shortcomings of the current version like lack of SVG and MNG support. (Right now, IE and Opera lack support for those technologies also.)
Don't take my word that the site is valid XHTML 1.1, check it yourself:
